TIDAL WAVE DAMAGE
Diamond Harbour Highway
The tidal wave damage to lowlying portions of the main highway to Diamond Harbour will cost £22,000, the County Clerk (Mr G. T. Bullock) told the Mount Herbert Council Council recently. It was decided to apply for a Government subsidy to help to meet the cost. The two miles and a half of unsealed road in the Teddington basin had been badly affected by silt and the action of the water, he said, and in the low areas of Charteris Bay the edges of the seal had also been damaged.
