CARS TAKEN FROM GARAGES
Two Converted During Week-End
Two cars were taken from garages in Christchurch during the week-end. In one instance another vehicle had to be moved to get out the car which was converted.
A 1955-model Austin A5O, painted grey, number 323-217, was taken from a garage in Colombo street yesterday. A recent-model Car, taken from a garage in Avonhead road on Friday night, has still not been recovered. The owner discovered that the car was missing when he opened the garage at 9.25 a.m. on Saturday. The car number is 439-958. They keys had been left in the ignition switch.
A 1958 Triumph Tiger Cup motor-cycle, painted grey and black and fitted with crash bars, has been missing from Waimea terrace since Thursday. Its number is 76-383.
A pre-war Montgomery motorcycle with a black frame and blue tank has been missing from Waipara since June 7. It ts powered by a 125 c.c. Villiers engine and has twin exhausts. The number is 66-993.
A 1952 A.J.S. motor-cycle, number 79-611, painted black with a black and chrome petrol tank, has been missing from Elgin street since June 8. It has a fawn canvas saddlebag on the right side.
