Favourites Win At Ascot
(N£. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 17. Silver King, the favourite, won the Wokingham Stakes, of £2285. run over six furlongs, at Ascot. Berkshire, today. Sovereign Path was second and Dawn Watch third. Twenty-nine ran. Official starting prices were: 15 to 2 (favourite) Silver King, 17 to 2 Sovereign Path, 33 to 1 Dawn Watch. Silver King won by three lengths, with a head between second and third. Another favourite won the Queen Alexandra Stakes, of £2430, over six furlongs. The winner was Predominate, with Fabius second, and Colchicum third. Four ran. Official starting prices were: 15 to 3 on (favourite) Predominate, 33 to 1 Fabius, 9 to 4 Col.chicum.
Prodominate won by .six lengths, with half a length between second and third.
