Hoardings
Correspondents have drawn attention to unsightly hoardings -on bus-stop seats in the Cashmere Hills district. Commenting on a letter dated May 2 (written after the hoardings had been in place for some time), the tHeathcote County Clerk (Mr R. W. Morris) said that his council gave authority for these seats to be installed on condition that the advertisements
were submitted to the council for approval. “As this con- “ dition has not been observed ’’, said Mr Morris, “ the matter is “ at present under review ”. Six weeks have passed and the hoardings are still in position. It is time the Heathcote County Council announced either its approval of the hoardings or its decision to have them removed or altered.
