Tinted Glass Used In Europe
Fading merchandise *in shop windows, a problem that has always irked store owners' was overcome recently by the display manager of a European clothing store who tinted the windows with a special liquid plastic. The plastic dries in 30 minutes, according to the “New Zealand Draper,” and can be applied to all types of windows reducing fade, glare and heat. Windows can be washed in the usual manner, no special maintenance being required. Tinting eliminates the harmful ultraviolet rays by as much as 99 per cent., and heat by as much as 82 per cent apart from protecting goods exposed to the sun, this considerably lowers air conditioning costs, especially in buildings with large areas of glass.
Available in 11 different colours, the plastic tint is decorative as well as utilitarian. The shifting of textiles from one window to another is no longer necessary and the display man can trim his window to his exact plans, without having to use neutral colours to avoid the harmful rays of the sun. Reduction of glare also makes the premises more comfortable for the customer.
