Selector's Hard Task
In recent weeks the University senior Rugby coach (B. P. J. Molloy) has had a problem in choosing the, team because of players being away in representative teams. With the return of the New Zealand Universities side he has a difficult problem: who to leave out of the team.
Choosing forwards will be the hardest task. For the three loose forwards he will have to choose from the Canterbury representatives, T. H. Moynihan, M. R Dunne, and P. G. Bark; the New Zealand University blue, B. R Smither, and W. R. Strang, who up to last week was the top try scorer in senior Rugby. Front Row The front row will also be a problem. At present it is N. Hobbs, K. C. Pirie, and K. S. Doig, all of whom have been playing exceptionally well. Now the Canterbury representative, C. R. Hockley, M. W. Allen, and J. N. Creighton are all available. With this surfeit of talent, Molloy will no doubt remember that when all his top players were available the team could only win one of its first four games. After it lost six players to the Australian tour and four to the Canterbury team, University did not lose a game.
