ESCAPER ADMITS 11 CHARGES
Remanded In Custody
For Sentence
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 10.
Pleas of guilty to 11 charges, including burglary, escaping from custody, being armed with a pistol, theft and forgery were entered by a Hungarian immigrant, Mihaly Bede, aged 21, a fisherman, when he appeared before Mr W.. H. Carson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Wellington today. He was remanded in custody for sentence.
The police prosecutor (Mr P. W. Mathieson) said that Bede had escaped from custody outside the Court on May 21 and had been apprehended on the evening of the same day wearing a stolen coat and pushing a converted motorcycle' in a city street. Before his capture, Parliament Buildings had been searched.
