Housing Density
Sir, —Whether the Federated FArmers have greedy ideas is a rather open question. However, “Keep New Zealand Healthy” and his ideas of modern fiats are rather archaic. Modem flats, as designed by Le Corbusier, Affonso Reidy, Powel, Moya, and Robert Atkinson, are both bright and airy. Containing such amenities as kindergartens, shops, laundry services,' and a variety of entertainments, these flats would be set in large parks, with playing areas for children and recreational areas for adults. These types of flats provide for a far superior living standard than rows and rows of small houses pushed close together and lining both sides. of dirty streets.— Yours, etc, i PROGRESSIVE BUILDING. June 1, 1960.
