Machinist’s Hand Injured
A man was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital, about 2.30 p.m., yesterday, with a piece of lin wire rope coiled around the fingers of one hand. He is’H. Brown, a machinist employed by Andersons, Ltd., engineers, of 38 Curries road. Mr Brown was working on a horizontal boiler when his fingers became caught in the wire rope. Workmen had to cut it through with a gas torch before he could be taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital. There, he was treated and sent home.
