Y.F.C. SHEEP JUDGING
Mid-Canterbury Team Second
Mid-Canterbury was placed second in the recent Young Farmers’ Club sheep judging contest held at Hamilton. The team comprised Messrs J. C. Cameron (Wakanui), P. Johnston (Mayfield). N. Early (Mayfield), C. J. Jowers (Lauriston), and L. J Hanraham (Pendarves). It was awarded 1735 points. A team from Wairarapa was first with 1840 points. Mid-Chnterbury was placed fourth equal in the Henson Shield contest . The trophy was awarded for competition in all sheep classes. Mr J. W. Allan gained the highest aggregate points for New Zealand over all classes. Mr Allan is a student at St. Andrew’s College. Christchurch, and is a member of its Young Farmers’ Club This is the second time that the award has been won by a Mid-Canterbury contestant
