Graduates’ Service
Graduates of Canterbury University, their friends and members of their families attended the annual graduates* service in the Christchurch Cathedral yesterday afternoon. The University Church Music Group formed the choir, with its leader and conductor, Mr Norman Hindley, as organist. The service began with an invocation and prayers by the Rev. P. Goddard, the university chaplain. These were followed by the lessons, read by Mr Adrian Brokking, president of the Students* Association, and Dr. F. J. Llewellyn, vice-chancellor of the university. An anthem was then sung by the University Church Music Group. The Dean of Christchurch (the Very Rev. Martin Sullivan) preached the sermon, and the blessing was pronounced by the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt Rev. A. K. Warren).
