Collection For Refugee Fund »■ \ ■ The present day distress of refugees in Europe was the theme of the annual church parade held yesterday afternoon by the grand lodge of Canterbury United Ancient Order of Druids, in St. John’s Church, Hereford street The collection from the service went towards the National Council of Churches’ i 960 Appeal for Refugees. Accompanied by the City of Christchurch Highland Pipe Band, the parade began when a large number of Druids in regalia marched from the Druids* buildings in Manchester street, along Cashel and Madras streets to the church in Latimer square. The service was conducted by the Rev. D. D. Thorpe, vicar of St John’s Church, whose sermon illustrated the problem of the refugee in the world today. The lesson was read by the grand president of the Druids, Bro. S. D. Tarrant. The organist was Mr C. H. Davies.
