Enrolments Well Above
Expectations
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 26. The Minister of Education (Mr Skoglund) will officially open Palmerston North University College on May 19.
Dr. J. Williams, the vice-chan-cellor of Victoria University told the university council today that enrolments at Palmerston North had exceeded the original estimates 01 the Senate of the University of New Zealand by a considerable number. More than 242 internal enrolments had been received, against the Senate's estimate of 125. In the extra-mural section of the college 563 students had enrolled, 133 more than had been expected. In addition to this, the Regional Council of Adult Education was also using the college.
