This year’s Otaki scholar from Robert Gordon’s College, Aberdeen, will be Grant A. T. Allan, aged 18, and the son of a footwear manufacturer. He is expected to arrive in Wellington on July 5 and to spend about six weeks in New Zealand. He is the seventeenth winner of the Otaki Shield to come to this country. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Anderton) said today that Allan, captain of his shool and a keen Rugby player, later intended to study at the University of Aberdeen and to specialise in mathematics and physics.
