Sir, —If Mr A. F. Palmer would state facts and not half-truths, there would be some merit in his assertion “that personal exemption from income tax is now greater than it was under the National Government.” The figures for elderly persons are: to March 31, 1958. £420: to March 31, 1959, £383; to March 31, 1960, £345; to March 31, 1961, £46B—Yours, etc., NEARING 80. April 11, 1960.
