MEAT RETAILERS’ ASSOCIATION
Criticism Voiced At Price Order
The South Canterbury Meat Retailers’ Association unanimously condemned anomalies in the retail meat price order, at a general meeting last evening. “It is definitely not in the interests of either the farmer, the retailer, or the public,” said a statement supplied after the meeting. “The Government agrees that anomalies exist, and is prepared to receive representations from the trade. However, we feel that this order particularly affects, and very severely, the private retailer who stocks and supplies quality meat,” the statement said.
