Trap Shooting At Leeston Snooting conditions were favourable and there was a good attendance when the Ellesmere Gun Club held several matches on its ground at Leeston. The usual five target eye-opener drew 25 competitors, the all-ons being W. J. Winchester. C. C Skinner, A. W. S. Donald. G. Lemon. S. R. Mew and R. G. Allan. Possibles in a 15-bird match were shot by J. F. Parkin. A. W S. Donald and W. D. M. West, who shared first, second and third money in the sweep. Shooters with 14 on were E. L. F. Donald and W. L. Gabble. Ten-bird Sweep In a 10-blrd sweep possibles were scored by L. H. Greenwood, M. A McMillan, W. Stretz. W. L. Gabbie. G. M. Doyle and W. E. Moorhead. A. A. Peterson, G. Lemon, G. M Doyle and R. G. Allan top scored with nine breaks in a five-pair double-rise. Next were W. E. Moorhead, W. A. Anderson and W Ford, each with eight breaks. W Ford scored the only possible in another five-pair double-rise. Shooters with one down were A. H Peterson and W. L. Donald, while C. C. Skinner. W. E. Moorhead. G. M. Doyle and R. G. Allan each broke eight. Two trophies were given by Mr ELF Donald for the competitor making the best aggregate in the three matches. The first trophy was won by A. W. S. Donald with 29 out of 30. and four others who tied for second, each with 27, were L. H Greenwood. W. L. Gabble, W. D. M. West and W. E. Moorhead. West won the shoot-off from Moorhead at the 12th round. The final event was a first-miss-out, won by A. W. S. Donald from W D M. West at the tenth round. The referees were Messrs R. G Allan and E. G. Amyes.
