Chicola Retired To Stud
(N Z. ' Press Association —Copyright) MELBOURNE,. April 11. Chicola, one of Australia’s best race mares, has been retired to the stud. An injury to Chicola’s near foreleg has forced her retirement. The injury resulted from 7 a kick she received in last year’s Melbourne Cup. Among her wins were the Wakeful Stakes, Oaks and V.R.C. St. Leger and the Randwick Adrian Knox Stakes. She beat Sir Blink by 12 lengths in the St Leger and scored a runaway win from Morning Gleam and Wiggle in the Adrian Knox Stakes.
