Record Price For Colt
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 11. An Australian and New Zealand record was broken at the Randwick yearling sales late this afternoon, when 15,000gns was paid for a colt by Star Kingdom from Confection. He was purchased by a Sydney businessman, Mr E. N. Caldwell, and will be. trained at Randwick by C, Ryan. The opening bid was 5000gns and bids came from all parts of the ring. The trainer Maurice McCarten dropped out at 14,500gn5.
