SHOOTING OF DR. VERVOERD
N.Z. Government's Sympathy (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 11. The acting-Prime Minister, (Mr Skinner) has sent a message of sympathy to ‘.he South African Prime Minister (Dr. Verwoerd). “I have been shocked to hear of the attack on your life and hope you may make a rapid recovery,” Mr Skinner said. Answering question; at his newspaper conference today, Mr Skinner said the attack on Dr. Verwoerd was discussed by the Cabinet at its meeting this morning. Mr Skiqner said the Government had received no request from the New Zealand Rugby Union for the use of its facilities ii) reaching a decision on sending the All Blacks to South Africa. The Prime Minister (Mr Nash) said last week the Government's facilities were at the disposal of the Rugby Union if it wanted them..
