BALLET TRUST’S OBJECTIVE
Maintenance Of High Standard (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 10. A tumultous reception for the final New Zealand Ballet performance at the Grand Opera House on Saturday night marked the end of a highly successful Wellington season. It also marked the end of the ballet’s management by the New Zealand Players’ Theatre Trust Board and augured well for its future-under the New Zealand Ballet Trust, the formation of which was announced from the stage by Mr Poul Gnatt. Mr Gnatt, who is a member of the artistic directorate for the newly formed trust, paid tributes to the associated work of the New Zealand Players and the National Orchestra, and said the trust hoped to maintain a high standard of ballet in New Zealand.
