The stamp win be issued in < conjunction with the sixth meet- j ing of the S.E.A.T.O. Ministers in Washington from May 31 to June 3. In announcing the new stamp last February 22, the Postmaster-General (Mr Arthur E. Summerfield) noted it was a “token of the confidence of the United States in S.E.A.T.O.’s continuing role in the service of peace and freedom." The stamp’s design was prepared by John Maass, of Philadelphia, who was the winner in the international competition to design an emblem for the Southeast Asia Treaty Organisation last year. At the top Of the design is the wording S.E.A.T.O. In dark roman capital letters, ■ and directly below is .the emblem of ten, arranged in three lines, to the motto; Unity, Peace and ProAM »-» B>To the lower right is the value 2£&SBv’arjsr?Mg
