Buganda Declared Disturbed Area
KAMPALA (Uganda), April 9. The Governor of Uganda, Sir Frederick Crawford, has declared the Buganda Kingdom, except for one district, a disturbed area, as a result of recent incidents, including bomb explosions. The order gives the police power to control the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, impose curfews, commandeer buildings and vehicles, ban public meetings and arrest people on suspicion.
