More Inner Spring Mattresses
Figures issued by the Department of Statistics show that inner spring mattresses increased in output in 1958-59 over the previous year by nearly 10 per cent. Soft-filled mattresses declined by nearly 12 per cent. The value added by factories in the industry, which excludes those making foam rubber mattresses, amounted to £788.000 in 1958-59, while the total value of all goods produced during the same year amount to £2.040m. compared with £ 2.084 m in 1957-58
