(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, April 1. In the quarter-finals of the men’s singles of the Surrey hardcourt tennis championships, L. A. Gerrard, of New Zealand, beat E. F. Strong, 6-4, 6-1, and M. A. Otway, also of New Zealand, beat H. Walton, 5-7, 6-3, 8-6.
