League Of Empire Loyalists
Sir,—Why should the League of; Empire Loyalists be singled oub for painting signs on public* places? At least they warn use that New Zealand is in danger; of losing its own soul, and that? some people have a good dose of; old-fashioned loyalty, common' sense, and courage. Why not people prosecuted for writing" names (and worse) on public* places? There still are election; signs painted round and in the* city.—Yours, etc., PIONEER. : March 30, 1960. J
Sir, —I am sure that the sin-! cere letter of “0.L.G.” will be appreciated and respected. Fur-’ thermore, I trust that our babes of today will climb higher in ; ethics and thought in order toj be able to "come and reason to-< gether,” mentally, not by in the future. "No More Non-» sense by Request” either ignor-J antly or wilfully overlooks the. deeds of the host of New Ze»--landers who were or are not $f British birth. To mention only one, because his bequest to lik museum was published recently, the late Julius von Haast, an Austrian by birth.—Yours, etc., ' ROCK OF AGES, i November 31, 1960. [This correspondence may nofr cease.”—Ed. “The Press.”] •
