BODY FLOWN TO MATARIKI
Helicopter Taken From Kaikoura (New Zealand Press Association) NELSON, April 1. The body of Clarence Llewellyn Waters, aged 47, of Matariki, was flown out by helicopter this afternoon from a point on the Karamea river bed near where he died on Monday morning. The pilot, Mr J. R. Palmer, had no difficulty in locating the police ground party which went into the area on Wednesday afternoon. The helicopter, which belongs to Airwork (New Zealand), Ltd., of Christchurch, was brought from Kaikoura on a road transporter to Matariki near the start of the Karamea track, 'bnd made the flight to get Mr Waters’s body and return to Matariki in an hour and 10 minutes. The ground party, led by Sergeant N. B. Oxnam, of Nelson, sent back a message that as the weather was clearing the party expected to be back at Matariki by tomorrow night.
