CYCLING THREE AMATEUR CLUBS HOLD SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIPS

Three Christchurch amateur cycling clubs held their sprint championships for seniors and juniors at English Park on Saturday morning. The cool temperature made conditions very pleasant. PAPANUI CLUB The Papanui Club fielded the largest team of juniors and these young riders showed great ability at sprinting. There were only six starters in the senior championship, and in this H. Bush, who has not been riding for some time, was the winner. It was not so much Bush’s riding ability that gave him the title as his tactics, especially in the final against R. Green. Results were:—
