FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A ridge of high pressure extends across the Tasman Sea on to New Zealand. Pressures are very low far to the south of the South Island. Forecast:— Marlborough and Nelson.—Moderate to fresh northerlies about coastal Marlborough, elsewhere mainly moderate northeasterlies: fair to fine with moderate to mild temperatures. Outlook: little change. West Coast.—Moderate to fresh south-west winds; fair at first, but cloudy at times later; temperatures moderate to mild. Outlook: fair to cloudy. Canterbury.—Light variable winds inland, moderate north-easterlies about the coast; fair, with moderate to mild temperatures. Outlook: little change.
