A HERCULES AIRCRAFT TAKES OFF FROM THE CHRISTCHURCH AIRPORT.—This photograph, taken yesterday, shows one of the five United States Air Force Hercules transport aircraft which took off for McMurdo Sound. Because of an unexpectedly strong headwind, all the aircraft returned to Christchurch.
