Life-Saving WAIMAIRI CLUB RACES
The Waimairi Surf and Life-saving Club held its annual long distance race from North Beach to Waimairi on Saturday. Results:— Senior.—l. Greig. 25mln 4sec, 1; W. Dean, 31min 34sec, 2; B. McGrath. 31min 38sec, 3. Junior.—T. Stephens, 24mln 30sec, 1; E. Leask. 25min 25sec, 2; T. Gaskell. 25min 38sec, 3. Women.—L. Leeming, 31mln 37sec, 1; K. Leask, 36min 6sec, 2; M. Leask, 36min 30sec, 3. Results of the club’s weekly surf race were:— Senior.—J. Yarr 1, I. Graham 2, B. McGrath 3. Junior.—T. Jay 1, T. Freeborn 2, R. Ironside 3. Women.—M. Dasler 1, S. Stephens 2, M. Hulme 3. Ski Race.—l. Graham 1, M. Stevens 2, J. Hughes 3. A race between the Waimairi Club and Taylor’s Mistake Club resulted:— Senior Four-man.—Waimairi, 64.4 points, 1; Taylor’s Mistake, 61.45 points. 2. Junior Four-man.—Waimairi 65.70 points, 1; Taylor’s Mistake. 60.75 points, 2. Senior Surf Race.—lndividual: I. Greig (Waimairi), 1; J. Hughes (Waimairi), 2; I. McDonald (Taylor’s Mistake), 3. Teams Event.—Taylor’s Mistake 1, Waimairi 2. Junior Surf Race.—lndividual: G. Le Cren (Taylor's Mistake), 1;. T. Stephens (Waimairi), 2; E. Leask (Waimairi), 3. Teams’ event: Waimairi 1, Taylor's Mistake 2.
