PARTIES BANNED

West Berlin Action

BERLIN, January 12. The West Berlin City Government today banned two Rightwing organisations, the League of National Students and the National Youth of Germany, as unconstitutional and ordered them to be dissolved.

Members of both organisations were arrested when police broke up a Nazi-style torchlight ceremony early this month. The West German Parliament will formally condemn the recent outbreak of anti-Semitic outrages in the Bundestag (Lower House) session next week.

The Speaker of the Lower House will express the unanimous condemnation of swastika daubings and anti-Semitic incidents expressed by all four parties in the January 2 session, party managers agreed today.

But there will be no full-scale debate on anti-Semitism and neoNazis until next month.

The Bundestag at a later session is expected to hear a report from the Government on the incidents, and new legislation may be introduced, a spokesman said, according to Reuter.

In addition there will be further consideration of a bill to combat racial agitation, debate on which was adjourned before Christmas after the Social Democrats, the main Opposition party, had raised doubts about whether it would be effective.

The extreme Right-wing German Reich Party’s only Parliamentary Deputy, Mr Hans Schikora, today walked out of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Parliament when a declaration against anti-Semitism in West Germany was being read. Mr Schikora, a 48-year-o!d former Wehrmacht sergeant-major, had been refused permission to answer a declaration which said the State Government was not prepared to leave the field free for forces endangering constitutional order and misusing political freedom
