Large Yarding Of Store Lambs

Yesterday’s sale at the Temuka yards was notable for the offering of store lambs, which, in keeping with northern markets, sold very well under keen competition. The <; om P ris eti 120 head ’ , T, l e sale was not quite a s good as last week’s sale at St. Andrew s, but most vendors were more than satisfied. Store cattle rates were in keeping with fats. Four races of fat sheep came forward, fat wethers and hoggets sell'ug freely at late values, although = at were harder to Quit. About 50 fat lambs sold well. There was a medium sized yarding of pigs and weaners appreciated on the last sale by about 15s a head. Values were:— Fat cattle: fat steers, good, £45 to £49 12s 6d; medium, £4O to f, 44 J? s 6d; £34 2s 6d to £39 * 7a 6 £' F at heifers > K° od . £36 to £4l 2s 6d; medium, £33 to £35 17s 6d; light, £27 to £32. Fat cows, good, £32 to £34 17s 6d; medium £26 to £3l 17s 6d; light, £l7 2s 6d to £24. Fat sheep: fat wethers, good 56s to 63s Id; medium, 50s to 555; light, 37s Id to 495. Fat ewes, good, 16s to 18s 6d; medium, 14s to 15s lOd; light, 12s to 13s lOd. Fat lambs, good. 38s to 43s Id; medium, 32s Id to 375. Fat hoggets, 42s Id to 56s Id. Store sheep: wether lambs. 16s to 40s; ewe lambs, 36s 6d to 445; twotooth wethers, 28s to 40s. Store cattle: yearling heifers, to £23; two-year heifers to £27; twoyear steers to £27.
