No Word From Frenchmen

PARIS, December 8. The French expedition to New Guinea has sent out no messages since November 25, when it reported that it had only three days’ supplies left, its Paris headquarters said today. The expedition, led by Pierre Dominique Gaisseau, is exploring an unknown mountain chain in the centre of Dutch New Guinea. In his last report Gaisseau said they were moving along a driedup river bed 4000 metres up in the mountains.
They could not get supplies by parachute because of bad weather, he said.
