INQUEST’ INTO ELECTIONS
Labour Party Caucus (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 4. The Parliamentary Labour Party is to hold a caucus on December 16. the Prime Minister (Mr Nash) said today. If the meeting of the 41 Labour Party members of Parliament did not finish on that day the business before it would be carried over to December 17. he said. Mr Nash did not indicate the nature of the business which would come before the caucus, but sources in Parliament House have indicated that an “inquest” is likely to be held into the results of local body elections and their bearing on the political Labour Party.
It is also being suggested that the Parliamentary Labour Party will give consideration to General Election prospects next year.
