Guards Withdrawn In Canal Zone

PANAMA, November 30. United States troops were withdrawn today from guard duty along the Panama Canal Zone boundary where some soldiers were stoned in an anti-American demonstration on Saturday night. Panama authorities arrested 30 to 40 nationalists in a round-up of agitators in the wake of the demonstration, in which 31 were injured.
The situation, was quiet today and the troops’ were withdrawn to their base, leaving patrol duties along the boundary to Canal Zone police.
