YOUNG SOLDIERS FOUND
Three Stranded In Mountains
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, December 1. A three day ordeal for three young soldiers stranded in the mountainous Lerderederg Gorge, near Bachus Marsh, ended today. 'ne of the men had collapsed with heat exhaustion on Sunday morning and the small party had been stranded in the rugged country till early today. The men were found three miles and a half from the gorge mouth, where search headquarters had been set up in radio contact with search parties. The soldiers, al, national servicemen, were on a survival exercise when Sergeant K. M. Peters collapsed from heat exhaustion on Sunday. Sergeant B. J. O’Gorman, and Corporal P. L. Strachan volunteered to stay with him. A search aircraft sighted the three men in the deep ravine late yesterday afternoon, and they were brought out today.
