Medical Fee To Asian Waived
CANBERRA, December 2. The parents of a Singapore Chinese student in Melbourne, Tiny Lim, will not be required to majce any more payments on a bill for £BOO they received for their son’s treatment in a Melbourne tuberculosis sanatorium. The Minister for External Affairs (Mr R. G. Casey) announced this today. Mr Lim contracted tuberculosis while in Australia and was told his treatment would be free. He is studying architecture at Melbourne University. The action of billing the student £BOO provoked bitter protests in Australia.
