YACHT DAMAGED BY GALES
Romayne’s Crew ‘GIaJ To Reach Auckland’ (New Zeatana Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 2. With a quarter of an inch of fuel left in her tanks and three main sails blown out, the yacht Romayne entered the Waitemata harbour tonight. “When your weather forecasters say *a strong breeze is coming’ they mean you’ve got a gale and a half,’’ said one of the crew of seven. The Romayne is on a Pacific cruise and left Rarotonga 15 days ago. The crew consists of five Canadians and two Americans. The owner of the yacht, Mr Stewart Riddell, said tonight that they were very glad to be here. They would stay for four or five months to have a look around the country and they hoped to get jobs in New Zealand during their stay.
