Australian Wheat For Pakistan
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright > CANBERRA, December 1. Australia was giving 1500 tons of wheat, worth about £41.000. to Pakistan, the External Affairs Minister (Mr R. G. Casey) said today.
The wheat was a gift to Pakistan to help overcome a local shortage because of flood damage to crops, Mr Casey said. Proceeds of the sale of wheat in Pakistan would go towards flood relief work, he said. Mr ’Casey said the wheat was due to leave Fremantle on Thursday for East Pakistan.
