Rugby MR N. McKenzie RETIRING
43 Years’ Association With Game
(New Zealand Press Association) NAPIER, December 1. Mr Norman McKenzie is retiring after 43 years of active associ-' ation with the Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union. He announced last night at a meeting of the union’s management committee that he' would not seek reappointment to the post of chairman of the com-' mittee next year. Mr McKenzie, who began his playing career in Napier in 1912 and his administrative career in 1916, is one of the greatest names in New Zealand Rugby, and certainly the greatest name in the history of the game in Hawke’s Bay. For the last few months. Mr McKenzie has been in ill-health.
