£2059 Lost On Costa Rican Tour (Alrw Zeauina Pteab Association* WELLINGTON. Dec. 1. The treasurer of the New Zealand Football Association (Mr J. Cowie) announced to a meeting of the council in Wellington tonight that the Costa Rican tour of New Zealand had lost £2059. Mr Cowie said the association’s tours and coaching fund had stood at £2206 at the start of the season. "There is now £l2 10s left,” he said. The Ken Armstrong coaching scheme this season made up the deficit. “A couple of years ago we had £5OOO in the fund,” he said. “Its not a cage of crying over spilt milk. We did our best. The two tours by the Costa Ricans and Australians just didn’t appeal.” Mr Cowte said the association had covered its five-year plan, but it was not back to where it started. He said: “We have had a lot of fun—and given a lot of pleasure.”
