FUNDS TO ASSIST MOROCCANS
Appeal By Red Cross Society (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 1. The Red Cross Society today appealed for funds to assist the 10,000 Moroccans who have been paralysed by consuming cooking oil adulterated with an aviation cleaning oil. Drugs and other medical aid were urgently needed for the disaster. which had been proclaimed a national calamity by the Moroccan Government, the secre-tary-manager of the Auckland centre of the Society (Mr W. T. Noble) said. The New Zealand appeal is part of a world-wide appeal launched by the Red Cross League. The World Health Organisation and other international agencies are also organising aid. f
