CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRY
North Island Pacer The Wellington - owned pacer, Scottish Command, has been entered for the InterDo mln i o n Championship series, which will be run at Harold Park, Sydney, next January and February. Raced by Mr R. A. McKenzie snd trained at Trentbam by J. S. Hunter, Scottish Command has been one of the best pacers trained in the North island in recent years. He raced without luck at the recent cup meeting at Addington, being involved in an accident at the straight entrance in the New Zealand Cup, and meeting interference in the Ollivier Handicap. He showed something of his true form when he finished third to Caduceus and Lady Belmer in the Allan Matson Handicap on the third day of the meeting. Like all of the tightly-assessed pacers, Scottish Command will have extremely limited opportunities in New Zealand during the remainder of the season. There are no races to suit him at Christmas and the only suitable races are expected to be provided at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s Easter meeting. His connexions had little option but to enter him for the championships, where the .Grand Final will carry a stake of £15,000.
