Duke On Way To Ghana
(Rec. 10 p.m.) ACCRA (Ghana), November 23. Vast crowds of Africans in colourful tribal robes have more than doubled the population of this West African capital to greet the Duke of Edinburgh who arrives today on his first visit to the two-year-old Commonwealth State.
Flags fly from every home and shop as Ghana prepares in the Duke’s honour the biggest show since the independence celebrations of 1957. Coloured lights illuminate the main streets and huge signs on every vacant wall declare: “Akwaaba” (welcome).
