Death Sentence In France

A French farmer was sentenced to death and his mistress to hard labour for life in Periguex today for burning the man’s 70-year-old mother to death in the farmhouse fireplace. The couple, dubbed the “demon lovers" by the French press, are Robert Pons, aged 56, and Yvette Revssett, aged 26. They killed the elderly Mrs Pons in March, 1958, because she dominated the fanner’s life and was trying to break up their relationship.
