NEW TASMAN POST
Bowater Director Appointed (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 20. A Bowater Paper Company director, Mr D. W. Timmis, has been appointed managing-director of the Tasman Pulp and Paper Company, Ltd., the chairman, Sir James Fletcher, said today. This is the first time a managingdirector has been appointed by the board. Mr Timmis at present holds the position of first vice-president of Bowater’s Southern Paper Corporation of Tennessee. He will take up his new duties early next year. “This appointment,” said Sir James Fletcher, "follows the adoption by the company of new articles of association giving effect to proposals recently submitted by the Bowater company and Albert E. Reed and Company, Ltd,, for the future management and development of the Tasman enterprise."
Sir James Fletcher said today the board wished to pay a tribute to those directors who had held executive appointments in the company, particularly to the valuable services given by Mr L. S. Dougal as director of operations. Mr Dougal’s services had been made available by arrangement with Albert E. Reed and Company.
