Turbo-Jet Boat
i Designed for Guy Lombardo, the popular American band leader, an all-aluminium jet hydroplane is being built in the United States to atI tempt the present world water .speed record held by Donald Campbell. The project is being sponsored by the Alum*inium Company of America, and the boat named TempoI Alcoa. The builder is Les i Kawkawlin, of Michigan, who has built many of the world’s most successful i hydroplanes. The new craft will be powered by an Allison J 35 turbo-jet engine designed to develop 56001 b thrust at 8000 r.p.m.
