Wairakei Cookhouse Destroyed By Fire
(New Zealand Press Association) ROTORUA, November 12.
A cookhouse and mess hall, which catered for between 250 and 300 employees of Interna- 1 tional Contractors, Ltd., at the Wairakei geothermal project; camp, was destroyed by fire at about 2.30 a.m. today. The Wairakei and Taupo fire brigades attended the blaze and although fire-fighters prevented the flames from spreading, nothing was salvaged. The building wai valued at about £7OOO.
