The Peacocke Fountain
Sir,—l too had wondered what had become of this graceful fountain once situated in the Archery lawn. Gradually disappear many things that give individuality to the city. When an outcry is raised the relevant authority says the timber is rotten, the metal corroded, etc By then it is often too late for the interested citizen to take action Perhaps we need a vigilance committee to protect our property so* that the National Historic Places Trust will be assured of work a hundred years from now.—Yours, etc. PHYLLIS NEWELL. October 7, 1959.
